What we can supply
Three ways to buy, depending on what your customer asks for.
EUDR readiness and FSC® certification are two different things. A buyer may need one, the other, or both — so we quote all three separately rather than bundling them into a price you did not ask for.
A word on wording. We say EUDR-supported, not "EUDR certified", because no supplier can certify your compliance. The duty sits with the EU operator placing the goods on the market. What we provide is the traceability and due-diligence data that duty is discharged with — subject to the applicable traceability and due-diligence requirements.
Tell us which column you need at enquiry stage. It changes how the material is segregated in the yard and what paperwork travels with the shipment, so it is not something that can be added after loading.
Side by side
The three options.
| What you order | Deforestation-free evidence | FSC® claim | Typical buyer |
|---|---|---|---|
| EUDR-supported | Full due-diligence pack — plot geolocation, legality evidence, deforestation-free declaration | None | An EU importer who needs the due-diligence data but does not sell on an FSC claim |
| FSC 100% + EUDR-supported | Same due-diligence pack | FSC 100%, under FSC® C172164 | An EU importer whose customers ask for both. The usual choice for furniture and handicraft exports |
| FSC 100% | Not supplied | FSC 100%, under FSC® C172164 | A buyer outside the EU, or one whose EUDR duty is discharged elsewhere in the chain |

What the regulation asks for
Four things, and we hold all four.
Regulation (EU) 2023/1115, as amended by (EU) 2025/2650, puts the duty on the EU operator placing goods on the market. What that operator needs from a supplier is evidence.
- Deforestation-free. The land was not deforested after 31 December 2020. Our timber is grown on agricultural land, field bunds and plantations — land that was already farmland well before that date.
- Legally harvested. Harvest, trade and transport in accordance with Indian law, including transit permits where the species and state require them.
- Geolocation. Coordinates for every plot the timber came from. We already hold plot-level records for the growers inside the Pooja Wood House FSC® FM certificate, which is what makes this practical at smallholder scale.
- A due diligence statement. Filed by the EU operator in the EU Information System. We supply the underlying data set that statement is built on.
Why farm timber suits this well
India is classified low risk.
Under the Commission's country benchmarking (Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1093), India sits in the low-risk category.
For an EU operator that means simplified due diligence under Article 13 — the risk assessment and risk mitigation steps of Articles 10 and 11 do not apply unless something surfaces that suggests a problem. It is a materially lighter compliance load than sourcing the same species from a standard or high-risk origin.
Add to that the nature of what we sell. Every tree we buy was planted deliberately by a farmer as a plantation, on land that was already agricultural. There is no forest conversion anywhere in the story, which is the single hardest thing to evidence for timber from most origins.
Country classifications are reviewed by the Commission and can change. Verify the current list on the EU country classification page ↗.
Dates that matter
When it starts applying.
31 December 2020
The cut-off. Land deforested after this date is out, whatever else is true about it.
30 December 2026
Applies to large and medium operators, to downstream operators and traders of every size, and to micro and small enterprises for products already covered by the old EUTR — which includes sawn wood.
30 June 2027
Applies to natural persons and micro-enterprises for the remaining EUDR products.
Now
Sensible buyers are qualifying suppliers this year, not in December. Segregation and record-keeping take a season to bed in.
Questions we get
Before you ask.
Can you give geolocation data for every consignment?
For material sourced under the Pooja Wood House FSC® FM certificate, yes — plot-level records are part of how it works. For anything bought outside that group, tell us at enquiry stage so we can confirm before you commit to an order.
Do I need FSC® as well as EUDR?
No. They answer different questions. FSC® is a voluntary certification your customers may require commercially; EUDR is law for anyone placing goods on the EU market. Plenty of buyers take one without the other, which is why we price them separately.
Does FSC® certification make a shipment EUDR compliant on its own?
No, and be wary of anyone who says otherwise. FSC® certification is strong supporting evidence and a lot of the underlying data overlaps, but the EU operator still has to file its own due diligence statement. We supply the data; the statement stays yours.
Who files the due diligence statement?
The EU operator placing the product on the market. Our job is to give you a defensible data set to build it on, and to answer an auditor's questions if they come back to us.
Which species can you supply this way?
The farm-grown hardwoods we mill — mango, neem, babool, khair, sheesham, eucalyptus, acacia, sirish, arjun, lambu and others. See the species list.
Sourcing timber into the EU?
Tell us the species, volume and which of the three options you need, and we will confirm what we can supply and what documentation travels with it.
